The Selling of Alcohol will require a Liquor License
In line with the Alcohol Licensing Act 2003, Herstmonceux Village hall has become a Licensed Premises. Users must obtain permission to sell or consume alcohol on the premises from the `Hall Committee or the Designated Premises Supervisor` (DPS) when hiring the hall.
We will forward 2 copies of the application form, which you will need to be submitted personally by you to the DPS for approval (details of how to contact the DPS will be forwarded with the application forms), one copy to be retained by DPS, the other to be retained by you and displayed at your event.
Alcohol on the premises, but not being sold, will not require a Liquor License
We will need to know and must still be approved by the Village Hall Committee and the DPS
NOTE: Any member of the Village Hall Committee, the Designated Premises Supervisor and/or the Police reserve the right to enter the Hall at any time during the event to ensure due compliance with the Licensing Act 2003 and to immediately terminate any event or exclude any person from the Hall if in their absolute discretion they believe or have reason to believe that any breach of the Licensing Act 2003 has or is about to occur.
